A video of a demand for 6,000 money to discharge Baranti in a government hospital has gone viral, and widespread outrage has been expressed by the public.
The incident took place at Bidadi Community Health Center in Ramanagara and the two doctors who demanded Rs 6,000 to discharge Baranti have been suspended.
Bidadi Community Health Center Obstetrician Dr. Ramnagar DHO Kantaraj has issued an order suspending Sasikala and Dr. Aishwarya.
Rupa was admitted for delivery 5 days ago. After giving birth, the doctor demanded a bribe of Rs 6,000 while discharging her. Dodiya Manjappa of Ningegowda, Bidadi had admitted his wife to the Bidadi Government Hospital. They went to give two thousand money to the doctor who demanded money for the treatment.
I don't have that much money ma'am, I only have 2 thousand rupees. I work in garments, still not paid. Rupa's husband said that it is only 2 thousand, I can't give more madam.
Doctors who do not agree to this, we should distribute the money you give to everyone. Rs.2000 each. should be given Not for each other, 6 thousand fix. 2 thousand for him, 2 thousand for him, 2 thousand for me... said the doctor. If you give 2 thousand, will you give 500 to everyone? If not, give 6 thousand, if we know anyone else in Kammi Tagondre ward, everyone will give the same amount...
A notice has been issued to the DHO and doctors who have responded to this. It is clear in the video that bribes are being taken. So we suspended both of them. We will collect a complete report on this and take action. Two supervisors have been appointed in connection with this case. They said that they will take further action after receiving the report.
